Episode No. 8: How to Lead from the Front with Nigel Stinson
Featured Guest: Nigel Stinson
At 25 years old, Nigel Stinson has figured out how to lead from the front, and he is taking his message to other young adults.
In this interview with Steve Gallegos, Nigel shares his story of being introduced to the network marketing industry by his parents, and he quickly embraced many of the good values (integrity, responsibility, being a good steward, etc.), which are generally taught and promoted within that industry. Becoming aware that he had a desire and ability to inspire others, he worked to set aside his own perceived limitations and fear of public speaking and he began sharing his powerful message with small groups and eventually with several thousand people in a large arena.
To listen to Nigel is to listen to someone with the wisdom of someone 2-3 times his age. One of the highlights of his interview is when he shares a conflict that he had with his parents who taught him many of the values and principles which he now holds so dear.
It happens that as his parents taught and encouraged Nigel to embrace and exemplify these values, Nigel, a young middle school and high school student at the time, was conflicted because he did not know where or how to apply these values at school. This is a good lesson for all parents as well as business leaders listening to this show. We often “tell” our children, our employees, or constituents “what to do,” but we do not necessarily show them where and how to employ these values in their daily environment.
Nigel is on a mission to teach other young adults to avoid the pitfalls that come from pursuing a life as an influencer and instead become true leaders. It is refreshing to hear him share his philosophy and the importance of building a life worth living that is centered around serving others rather than trying to “impress” others.
This is a valuable interview with good insights for anyone of any age, and it gives us hope that the future of our world will be in capable hands so long as we have individuals like Nigel Stinson leading the way.
